Most of the provisions in the Equality Act 2010 came into force on 1 October 2010. The Act consolidates nine strands of anti-discrimination law including age, sex, race, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation gender reassignment, marriage and  civil partnership, maternity and pregnancy.

Equality Act 2010

By April 2011, most of the provisions in the Equlaity Act will be in force. The Act harmonises, strengthens and widens equality provisions by bringing together nine strands of equality laws and over 100 regulations.
